  1. that is really great. Amazing detail and it's rendered beautifully.

My only complaint is the smoke which seems a bit solid and thus kind of distracting.

    Overall, it's fantastic.

  2. I really like how you give volume and depth using different light sources. I'm curious, What is the original size of your file?

  6. Oliver,
The original watercolor is 13.5 x 20 inches. It is scanned in at 600 dpi. The digital files altogether are about 4 gb. There are several for the image because I flatten the image and save it as a new file once it gets over about 1200 mg. Once the file gets over about 1500 mg Photoshop will bog down my system.

don't really agree with pencrush, I don't think the smoke is distracting at all.

I love the little details in their clothes. hints at each cultures depth. the lighting is awesome to!

  8. Amazing! You are quite simply the most talented artist I know of on the internet! I am in awe every time I visit.

I am so excited that you are working on the Hobbit. I felt the same about losing all my visions of what the characters looked like after the movies.
