It looks like #4 is getting all the love, and while it is really good, I think #1 would do best at auction. The lion helmet on a soldier portrays a savage strength that the whole piece exudes, and I think would appeal to a broader range of bidders than a goat man would.
its a toss up between number 1 and number four, although number 3 has elegance and beauty to it. But, I flipped a coin and Old Mr. Tumnus (number 4 ;p) won. Amazing work, Justin.
Final count as of 10:00 AM Thursday morning: No 4 wins by a landslide with a total of 54 votes. No 1 came in second with a total of 10 votes with No 3 right behind it at 9 votes.
So No 4 is now in a frame, which is in a box, which is wrapped in bubble wrap, which is in another box, which is in a truck on its way to New York.
The exhibit begins April 6. The auction begins in mid/late April. I will be posting on here when it will officially begin.
This is my first time commenting...I found you through Andrew Peterson and the Rabbit Room. I love your work and son gets really dreamy when we look at your stuff...we've had fun. I love all four selections but I think 4 is the one. Thanks for sharing your stuff here.
And if I ever need an illustrator to work on my newly released children's book, The Ringwood Tree - www.ringwoodtree.co.uk - I know who to come to! Stunning work.
Hands down #4!
ReplyDeleteNo.4
ReplyDeleteit's a close call between 1 and 4, but I would have to go with 4 as well.
ReplyDelete3 or 4.
ReplyDeleteI'd go with 1.
ReplyDelete#4–no question.
ReplyDelete1,2,4. Though I am personally fond of 2.
ReplyDelete#4...love it
ReplyDeleteI think #4 edges out #1 by a smidge.
ReplyDeleteThey are all amazing but I'm going with number 4 also :)
ReplyDeleteNo. 3 :)
ReplyDeleteNo. 3!
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 rocks! Number 1 is pretty great too... I say submit all 4 as a quartet :). Excellent work.
ReplyDeleteI'm digging 1,3, or 4. I think 4 is probably the strongest one of the lot.
ReplyDeleteThey are exquisite, especially the ones with women.
ReplyDeleteBut, I go with Business Ram.
Number #4.
It seems like 1 and 4 are awfully close, but I'd have to agree that 4 is stronger.
ReplyDelete#3 for me
ReplyDeletenumber four, with number one a close second
ReplyDeleteAll awesome! but number four the best!
ReplyDeleteThey are all great but my vote would be:
ReplyDelete4...with 1 as a close second.
#4
ReplyDelete3 or 4.
ReplyDeleteI think #4 is the best execution but I think #3 is a better concept.
ReplyDelete4 no contest. The texture, the lighting, the modeling, everything about it blows the other ones out of the water. Great Piece.
ReplyDeletefeeling awfully repetitively redundant redundant saying "four," but it's creepy & kinda the right thing to do for you.
ReplyDelete#4
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces! #4 is my favorite though.
ReplyDeleteNumber 4!
ReplyDelete#4-awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm Irene, 4 is the best! but 1 is a VERY close second!
ReplyDelete( I like 4 more just cause goat people rule....)
#4
ReplyDelete#4
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 is a great one, there is something about Number 1 as well. I think you might call No.4 "Pucker"
ReplyDelete4 then 1,3,2...
ReplyDeletebut for me 2 was favorite before the blue period.
It's almost a sin to chose, but I go with the mob and say 4 ! Still i'm not sure if 1 isn't more interesting in the long run.
ReplyDeleteAs someone mentioned before I would also think about submitting all of them as one piece. I really like the pictures with the panel on the wood!
#2 for sure
ReplyDeleteFOUR
ReplyDelete#1 has something Frazetta-ish about it and I love the palette.
ReplyDeleteFour for me.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you were just getting into your stride. Therefore, No.9 would surely be a doozy.
#4 for sure
ReplyDelete#4.
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 is the best, although #3 is stunning.

ReplyDeleteI vote for No.1, with No.3 bringing up a close second (it intrigues me). Then No.4, then No. 2.
ReplyDelete#1: No. 1
#2: No. 3
#3: No. 4
#4: No. 2
#4.
ReplyDeleteThey're all amazing! I love no. 3 especially
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful - i like #3 :)
ReplyDelete4 with 1 placing second.
ReplyDeleteits a toss up between number 1 and number four, although number 3 has elegance and beauty to it. But, I flipped a coin and Old Mr. Tumnus (number 4 ;p) won.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work, Justin.

ReplyDeleteall them are great, but 4 is awesome. nice work!
#4
ReplyDeleteThey are all fantastic. Very tough choice!
#4, terrific
ReplyDelete1 or 4 bro!!
ReplyDeleteEITHER way Id go with one that looks more like theres a story behind it-- which one is the viewer dying to know more about?!!?
Looks like its going to be #4, and I agree. But #3 provides a nice color and mood contrast to the rest of the current MicroVisions entries.
ReplyDeletePainting number 4 is great.
ReplyDeleteNo. 1, man. It's more interesting to look at
ReplyDeletenumber four.
ReplyDelete#4 - but gosh #1 is a very very close second!
ReplyDeleteI like #4 the best.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for N°4 !
ReplyDeleteAmazing !
Number 4, sir.
ReplyDeleteAlthough... number 1 is really sweet too!
Ok, ok... Number 4, yup. Number 4
#2 is the poop.

Thanks everyone for voting and for the feedback!
Sadly I'm late to vote. But I'm surprised that #1 didn't win. By, far, it's the best developed and the color and lighting is the most successful!
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 by a very long shot to me. Not sure why everyone seems to like #4. Oh well :/
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time commenting...I found you through Andrew Peterson and the Rabbit Room. I love your work and son gets really dreamy when we look at your stuff...we've had fun. I love all four selections but I think 4 is the one. Thanks for sharing your stuff here.
ReplyDeletenumber 4
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 please! There's just something about his introspective expression that is captivating.
ReplyDeleteJustin,
ReplyDeleteMy vote, No.4
And if I ever need an illustrator to work on my newly released children's book, The Ringwood Tree - www.ringwoodtree.co.uk - I know who to come to! Stunning work.
Hard to decide between 1 and 4, but I choose 1. It strucked me when I saw it.
ReplyDelete4!
ReplyDeleteNumber one is by far my favorite
ReplyDeleteBrian Beausoleil
Number 4 is the best, although #3 is stunning.
ReplyDelete#1 is Numero Uno
